From Capstone Seminar

Would you believe me if I said I meant to start uploading everything much sooner than this? (I mean, I did mean to... but then I didn't)

Anyways! Here's a much overdue post that overviews most everything that happened during Capstone Seminar last Spring!

• From within the class:

  • My contract and proposal were overviewed and officially approved by Christine & Kevin

    • Everything was also overviewed and unofficially approved by Mark

    • I've attached my Proposal to this blog because I Do Not feel like retyping out every single detail of it

• I also started working on Pre Production, mainly character designs, thumbs(?) and concept art for the environments (and the respective mood boards)

  • take a look at my pinterest board cause it's pretty lit).

• Outside of class

  • I started a shared drive for all of my capstone files to live and for the eventual (hopeful) bringing on of other students to help me during this process! (I'm going to start asking around for modeling help once the semester starts, probably try sending out a email to the whole school)

  • I also created a discord server specifically for communications about my capstone (for the same reason as above)

  • As evident by you being able to read this post): FINALLY got the website up and running!

  • Thought really really hard about doing storyboards, but ultimately didn't (oops)

  • I tried to do some quick sculpting exercises for the Kreature's head (skull) but none of those really turned out well so there's nothing tangible atm

  • I did create a little clay sculpture of a small mushroom person with the intention of basing Enoki's design off of it, but then the dog destroyed it :(

RIP little Enoki Beta....

• I also started reconsidering the title I want to use for this film. Originally I was using the phrase "Kreatures of Kindness" but I felt like that was a little too... kitschy? I guess? And then I though "huh, maybe just "Enoki" would be good" but that's kind of what I did for my last film too (F3L1-x). So now I'm at "Enoki & the Kind Kreature" which I think has a nice ring to it but may still be a little too basic.

But that's all the updates I have for now! I will probably start kicking out some storyboards later this week in a mad attempt to cover up NOT doing anything capstone related over the summer, but we will see :)
